• THE TRIBE

A story of shared passion

Once upon a time, there was a family named Rigaux. Back in 1982 the parents, Nicole and Sylvain, begin creating jewellery from pewter. Over the years, this rather sober material is enhanced with stones, glass, enamel... Several years later, having studied at the Ecole du Louvre, their son, Franck, joins the venture. Little by little, his creative talents are expressed and his ideas fashioned. It becomes obvious that his wife, Katia, with 10 years experience in the domain of haute-couture, shares the same passion as her husband, and she in turn joins the group in 1998. Inspired by their travels throughout the world, Katia and Franck bring a personal touch to the family enterprise that will one day be their own. The groups’ creations are now marked by an ethnic influence which becomes characteristic of them.

In 2000 the style Tribe is born. In order to emphasize this style, they decide to create their own brand, and Rigaux Jewellery becomes The Rigaux Tribe. Despite their success, Katia and Franck have not forgotten their fundamental values, values based on ‘art and craft’ production of human scale.

Inspirations

Untiring travelers, dreamers in essence, Katia and Franck Rigaux express their shared passion for the exploration of other cultures, other continents.

Impatient to reveal their discoveries, they return from their travels in Asia, India, Africa,... their baggage overflowing with stones, beads, metals,... all a source of unending inspiration.

All these unearthed treasures, frenetically and passionately amassed, nurture their creative talent and enable them to imagine and craft 400 new models every year.

A piece of jewellery is born

It begins with the search for new materials throughout the world. Back at the workshop Franck takes his pencils and begins sketching, from his sketches the first designs are drawn up. The conception finished, the model can now be crafted. To begin with the metal parts are put together and treated. Next it’s the role of the mounting unit to assemble the metal parts with the other chosen materials (stones, beads...). The piece is finished, and it is time for it to make it’s way in the world...
